Bob Abel helps organizations create, refurbish and/or improve Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Performance Systems, and Program / Project Management Office programs that deliver significant bottom line results. He has more than 20 years of demonstrated execution capability, leading projects of all sizes, at all levels, from Fortune 1 to Healthcare Start Up’s – delivering $100’s of millions in bottom line verified impact.

  • Led and refurbished the Global Continuous Improvement program for Walmart, deploying capability into China, Mexico, Canada, eCommerce, and US Supply Chain.
  • Worked across many organizations of varying sizes, in multiple industries, to bring an Operational Excellence capability. From Retail to Health Care, from Technology to Heavy Manufacturing, and everything in between.
  • Certified Black Belt and Master Black Belt, with extensive, practical experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Program / Project Management as well as Change Management
  • Expert in the concept of Zero Loss – how to take a specific perspective so the best your competition can ever do is “tie” you.

Before joining Kaeppel Consulting to lead Operational Excellence practice, Bob was Vice President of Alto Pharmacy, leading A Digital Health Care start-up in the space of Operational Excellence. Prior to that Bob led Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence Programs at Walmart, Armstrong World Industries, Kelly Services, USAA, and GE (Power Systems and Capital).

Bob is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering, serving for 6 years as a Surface Warfare Office on 3 ships –  the USS Whipple, USS Lake Erie, and the USS Russell, mostly in Engineering and Navigation billets.

Bob is a newly minted empty nester, living with his wife Angela of 27 years in Northwest Arkansas.
